REMEX Software

Real experience.
New possibilities.

We’re REMEX Software. We make games and build simulators that connect the virtual world with real-world performance.

For over 10 years, we’ve worked alongside teams competing at the highest levels of racing, developing simulators around the challenges they face. Much of that work stays behind closed doors. The experience we bring to your project doesn’t have to.

Founded in 2014 in Guildford, UK, REMEX combines a background in game development with specialist simulation expertise. We offer Unreal Engine development and simulation consultancy for teams with an ambitious idea, a demanding technical challenge, or a simulator they want to take further.

We work directly with your engineers to improve existing workflows and integrate your own physics models into real-time simulation. From connecting engineering tools to profiling and optimising simulation code, we help you build on the systems and expertise you already have.

Above & beyond.

No challenge too big. No detail too small.

We pride ourselves on going the extra mile. Whether you’re facing a stubborn technical problem or trying to build something that hasn’t been done before, we’ll work alongside you to find a way forward.

We take the time to understand what you need, get stuck into the difficult parts, and see the work through. Solving your problem matters as much to us as the software we deliver.

Got a challenge for us?

Let’s build something

Simulation.

Experience building simulators alongside racing teams, grounded in the demands of real-world performance.

Unreal Engine.

Specialist development and technical consultancy to help bring your interactive project to life.

Games.

We love simulation. We create deep, engaging games and bring that same care to every project we work on.

Engineering expertise.
Real-time results.

Physics model integration

Your engineers know the systems you’re simulating. We work alongside them to bring their own physics models into a real-time environment, connecting engineering knowledge with an interactive simulator.

Simulation performance

We help profile and optimise simulation code and Unreal Engine projects, including GPU acceleration and CUDA development where they can make a difference. The focus is on finding bottlenecks and making better use of the systems you already have.

Networking & connected systems

We develop systems that communicate over networks and integrate with existing hardware using TCP/UDP, CAN bus and other interfaces, connecting simulation software, controls and devices.

Rendering & environments

We create the real-time worlds your simulators operate in, from terrain and water to lighting and visual effects. We also work with photogrammetry, Gaussian splatting and scanning and capture workflows to bring real-world places and objects into your simulation.

Modelling & visualisation

We turn your CAD models into polished visual assets, refining geometry, materials and textures for high-quality renders or real-time use in games and simulation.

Virtual & mixed reality

We build immersive views into your simulation with virtual and mixed reality, connecting headsets, tracking and real-world controls so the experience works around the person using it.

Motion platforms & hardware

We help connect the virtual experience to physical hardware, integrating motion platforms, motion cueing algorithms, controls and simulator systems with your physics and real-time visuals.

Toolchains & workflows

We work with your engineers to connect tools and improve existing workflows. We can provide our suite of bespoke tools for build pipelines and deployment, making your simulator easier to develop, iterate on and deliver.

Bleeding edge

We regularly work with emerging technology and challenges without an established solution. We pride ourselves on exploring new ideas, testing what works and finding novel ways to turn unfamiliar problems into practical results.

Open & collaborative

We share the code, tools and knowledge behind our work, building alongside your engineers. We don’t believe in black boxes that leave you dependent on us for every change. Our aim is to strengthen your platform and accelerate your team, giving you the knowledge and control to keep developing it yourselves.

Our roots.
Our next chapter.

We’re the original creators of Deadstick – Bush Pilot Simulator. Born from a passion for flying, it sets out to capture the judgement, preparation and airmanship involved in being a bush pilot.

That same curiosity drives what we’re making next. Alongside our consultancy work, we’ve been busy developing a new game. We’re keeping the details under wraps for now, but you can be sure it features deep and engaging simulation. We’ll be sharing more soon.

Meet the founder.

Chris Cheetham

Chris founded REMEX after working at EA Games, Supermassive Games and Fireproof Games on projects including the Harry Potter games, Until Dawn, Walking With Dinosaurs, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone and The Room series. He founded the studio to bring that experience together with a longstanding passion for simulation.

Flying has been a big part of that journey. His experience includes aerobatics, formation flying and simulated aerial combat. His own time in the cockpit helped inspire Deadstick. More recently, he’s been finding his feet with sailing and enjoying the challenge of learning something new.

Away from games and simulation, Chris plays guitar and trains Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He also enjoys getting out on the water for sailing adventures with his family.
